26

Oh my husband is so fantastic...

So I celebrated the big two-six this week. Yikes! I'm starting to feel old (especially with my dad so kindly reminding me that I am now in my second quarter century of life, thanks dad). The plan was work, conference, and dinner. A lovely little day right? Well that all changed when I woke up.

For starters, although Matt had to work at 6, streamers and roses and the sweetest letter welcomed me into my new year

Just as I am thinking how unbelievably lucky I am to have such a wonderful husband I also start to worry because I can't find my car keys anywhere and I need to get to work. Matt calls just then and another surprise...he has my car keys and has taken care of work so I don't have to go...he is too cute!...but there is more...my sisters come over just then as Matt has arranged for them to take me out to breakfast. Wow, I felt so spoiled.

After a wonderful breakfast I come home and not a minute later Matt shows up, home early from work, to see me. Rushing into his arms I have the only gift I could have ever asked for, his love. He however does not believe that and insists on opening presents. BYU pajamas, personalized license plates, and tivo were way more than I deserved but I was thrilled! Than came the very best gift. The Blue Binder.

Now you may wonder what treasure the binder was holding. Here it is...

Awesome huh? I was so speechless and happy, I teared up a little. The day was an absolute dream to say the least. Every minute. From snorkeling to dinner to chocolate, strawberries and champagne (aka non-alcoholic pear bubbly) back at the hotel.

Whatever did I do to deserve this wonderful man? He is truly the best! Happy Birthday to me indeed!

Since my wife has decided that it is more fun to read blogs than write them, I am taking it upon myself to continue our family story. I figure too many things have passed since my wife's last entry, so I'll just skip that stuff and let you know what we are doing now.

After our trip (not mentioned) to Oregon I have been keeping myself extremely busy with school and work. It's not necessarily my first option as far as leisure activities go, but I can't complain. Ashley continues to be a very loving and understanding wife and helps me whenever and however she can. With me gone she has to fill her time with things to do, thank goodness for BYU football. I think that she is the only girl in Provo, nay the western hemisphere, that can tell you the starting offensive and defensive lineups. Although I think that this hobby is a mixed blessing. When the Cougars do well so does Ashely, but unfortunately it works the other way as well. It's okay though I think that I have figured out how to remedy her football woes. Lots of junk food and attention.

Before I end my post, Ashley would like to announce that she has a new nickname and she would like to invite everybody to start addressing her by it. It's giggles, it was given to her by me because when she's tired see giggles a lot.

Angels

My Grandmother is an ANGEL

of that i have no question

some people are sent to this earth and live
everyday with no thought to their own self
well-being but dedicate their lives to others

they sacrifice all they have to help ease the pain
and trials of others

never in my life have I come across a more
perfect example of selflessness than my
Grandma Marjorie

Heaven has surely missed her, and although our hearts
are swollen with sadness, it is time to give her back

mother's day is a difficult day to say good-bye, but upon
reflection, so appropriate for the lady who epitimized the
word mother to once more be surrounded by all those
whose lives she has touched

the world has been blessed beyond measure these last
87 years, but the Lord needs her now

good-bye grandma
we love you
it is just temporary as we will all be together
again, forever
our hearts are sad yes
but more importantly
full of love and peace from our Father in Heaven
as you have now returned

Cinco de Mayo

I love holidays. The big ones, the little ones, the national ones, and the little ones on the calender most people don't even know about. So when the 5th of May rolls around and the opportunity to combine fajitas, virgin daiquiris (only way to roll), jarritos, mariachi music, sombreros, the NBA playoffs (which of course have nothing to do with anything except that you can't miss the playoffs), and last but not least, a SpongeBob pinata, how can one possibly pass it up? It was a good time.

Pink Jasmine

Reasons I have not been on here since October:

1- Been WAY too caught up in blissful newlywed life.
2- Every computer I have touched in the last 6 months has broken.
3- I don't do Utah winter. Seriously! I grew up in year-round sunshine and
my body doesn't function without it.

I'm stilll in love with and wrapped up in being newly married, however, spring
is here and my computer is in working condition once again, so I decided it was
time to again venture into the world of blogging.

Excuses aside, I would like to state that I have the most wonderful husband ever!
Story: I drove to work with the windows down, enjoying the best day I have seen in
months, happy to my very core. That quickly changed upon stepping into the
windowless, concrete building I was to be trapped in for the next eight hours. I
expressed my dismay to Matt, who being the angel that he is, showed up with the
most heavenly smelling pink jasmine plant explaining, "I thought you could use a
little of the outdoors indoors." Is he not the best? I truly think so!
